Sorry ...

All I can find is an anime called Tenshi no Tamago (Angel's Egg) - (1985 or 2006 entries available in IMDB)

I just came across this site: http://www.tobiranomuko.com/index.html

Has anyone ever seen this movie? Seems interesting but I was unable to find it.

BHSAK, would you mind writing up some more about this? It sounds very interesting.

*Have you watched Kairo?

I haven't but I think I will. I've seen Loner.

Not much to add here except to say I am giving up on Loner. It's an interesting beginning but man... I just won't sit through 11 youtube parts and there's no torrent with seeders for it as far as I can tell.

Just saw the TLG video being tagged as a Filipino Docudrama and so I checked it out next and it isn't in Tagalog. (Although the Philippines has many languages that it can be anything but the comment underneath the video said it was from Indonesia)

Alot of the mannerisms though are common enough middle class schoolkids actions based on my own observations.

Still I wouldn't recommend the video.

I don't know how more far out foreigners see this but these are the types of shows where it's dealing with something that requires better acting and better presentation but it doesn't, so it's just bad but not necessarily because of the acting and the presentation either.

It's really hard to explain the "effect" without watching it and even then you have to have seen other similar themed shows to know that right off the bat, you're watching something that's crud because it's a video badly designed to play at one's heart strings and uses a sort of common low denominator portrayal that even if the situations are common enough that the acts don't fall under unrealistic --- it isn't realistic because of the end result. (and this goes pass beyond the issue of bad acting)

The most basic analogy I can make for these kinds of videos are that they are the equivalent of a lower quality Sesame Street episode except they don't seem as kiddie because the subjects are more adult-oriented. In fact alot of the style and direction is reminiscent of some of our local Filipino soap operas and single shot shows. (when I was still watching some, I don't know about now.)

Overall, the quality isn't as intolerable if the style doesn't bother you and you're just looking for tear jerker entertainment shows that seem like they are portraying reality like many soap operas do (especially if you have seen more Mexican/Asian/Filipino soaps compared to American and British ones) but Hiki or Non-Hiki no one is really going to discover anything about Hikikomoris here and at best the video will make you pity the person or hate them more but that's it.

It really is a case where it doesn't matter what you feel for the video. Like it/Hate it/Don't Care/Waste of your Life --- any opinion one have for this sort of portrayal is just irrelevant (unless you were planning to act on your feelings even before you watched the show) because it's a very "stock" type of video that only seems notable because it's dealing with an underrated subject like Hikikomori.

In fact, even when the video didn't seem like it can be as non-notable as it is, it's portrayal of Hikikomori is even further non-notable. It's not just bad. It's literally not there. (All you get is a bunch of text that say the words and after that, it's like the directors didn't even consult a real Hikikomori and just tagged it with his portrayal of any Introvert that eventually loses it. Why they didn't just replace Hikikomori with Suicide, I don't really know.)

...,

The rest of my reviews are here

or if you prefer the Tumblr link: http://hikkikomori.tumblr.com/post/225544211

formatting is all wrong in the Tumblr link though

I also added a PDF version of your OP thread since I swore some requested a formatted version that doesn't require registration in this topic: http://anonib.com/hikikomori/res/524.html

Can't spot the posts anymore though so it could just be my imagination.

Also it seems this forum has become more and more public.

Anyways, my apologies for not posting the reviews here. They were already a bitch just to get them to get through in the blog that I didn't bother with posting them here.

Still if there is one particular review that you find hard to copy-paste, just tell me and I'll post them here.
